The future of logistics in Europe will be shaped not only by technology but also by collaborative ecosystems that unite competing market players, legal experts, and implementation partners around shared standards and open-source solutions. In this session, the Open Logistics Foundation (OLF) will present its journey from concept to operational reality and highlight how structured cooperation can unlock interoperability, efficiency, and innovation across supply chains.

We will cover the original idea behind OLF and its ambition to create an open, vendor-agnostic foundation for digital logistics. The key activities are Ideation Workshops, an annual event The Open Source Ideation Day and networking formats that extend cooperation beyond OLF’s core membership. We will also talk about harmonising competing interests in shared projects, creating de-facto standards that benefit the wider logistics ecosystem while preserving commercial differentiation.

Delivery Point Optimization for Greater Efficiency (Best Practice Business Case)

We will present the implementation of an innovative tool for optimising letter delivery: the creation of static delivery districts. This solution has increased operational efficiency, improved responsiveness, and enabled a more balanced workload distribution, as well as adaptability to future needs.
The tool is an important step towards the digitalisation of delivery services, providing employees with support through navigation and on-the-ground assistance. It also directly contributes to reducing the CO₂ footprint by decreasing the distances travelled. The presentation provides a concrete example of how sustainability and technology can work together to achieve measurable logistics outcomes.

Digital Transformation of Complex Small-Series Manufacturing at Adria Mobil (Best Practice Business Case)

Adria Mobil structures its organisation and technological solutions around the specific needs of the industry, which is characterised by low volumes, highly complex products, a complex supply chain, and specific production requirements. This requires the development of proprietary IT solutions, a lower level of automation, significant investment in ergonomic equipment, and a strong emphasis on employee training to manage a complex set of operations.

From a logistics perspective, Adria Mobil is highly demanding. Owing to the large number of components in production, the wide range of base vehicle variants, and customer-specific manufacturing, effective management of information in production and across other business functions is essential.

Therefore, effective data management is essential. The lecture will cover logistics flows, digital solutions, and data integration throughout the company, from orders to production and delivery. It will also provide an outlook on future developments and the use of artificial intelligence in logistics.

Inventory data reconciliation problem – 1,000 times more efficient and 80% less costly with AI agent than a team of consultants (Best Practice Business Case)

RNDC, an $11 billion logistics company, faced an inventory data reconciliation challenge: 60,000 SKUs, 1.8 million records, and 50 different naming rules to verify the correct short-form product name. A consulting firm proposed a three-month project costing several million dollars.

Using our AI platform, we configured a Synthetic Worker for this project. It completed the entire reconciliation in just eight hours—1,000 times more efficient and at 80% lower cost than a team of consultants. The deliverable produced by our AI (a data table) was then validated through their standard QA/QC process. The client has since adopted Synthetic Workers to automate inventory reconciliation and Master Data Management.

Digitalization and AI - from planning to operation at the BMW main plant in Munich (Best Practice Business Case)

This presentation highlights the use of 3D Data and artificial intelligence throughout the entire lifecycle of production systems, from initial planning to daily operation. A digital twin is created based on a 3D scan of the production environment and serves as the foundation for planning and commissioning new facilities. Different technologies used for 3D data gathering are presented. Once the plants are operational, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency becomes essential. AI-supported tools are increasingly applied to meet these demands. The presentation is complemented by practical examples from the Munich plant.

N Sport is one of the leading sports and fashion retail chains in the region, with dozens of stores and a complex supply chain that continuously balances product availability, seasonality, and multiple sales channels. This session will present their concrete journey from fragmented systems to a unified, data-driven platform for managing operations.

Through a real-life case study, we will show how integrating ERP, retail systems, and advanced analytics creates a reliable foundation for decision-making in the supply chain, and how ALISA AI uses historical and real-time data for demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and intelligent redistribution of goods between stores. Talum's transformation from a commodity manufacturer to a solutions provider

In Talum’s transformation from a producer of aluminium semi-finished products to a provider of comprehensive solutions for various industries, logistics processes are becoming an important part of the added value. The lecture will present the adaptation of logistics processes to the company’s new strategic direction, including supply chain optimisation, digitalisation, closer cooperation with customers, and the introduction of circular aluminium supply models. Global conditions in the aluminium industry are steering Talum towards new operational pillars, among which logistics – with intermodality and a planned inland terminal – will play an important role.

Short Success Story: ENNA LOGIC d.o.o.

The lecture offers a brief overview of the development of the ENNA Group, focusing on the roles of ENNA Logic and ENNA Transport, which are engaged in developing and modernising the logistics sector, with the aim of positioning Croatia as a key player on the European logistics map. Through the Rijeka Gateway project, an investment of €380 million, a logistics corridor is being established from Rijeka to the hinterland of Eastern and Central Europe, which will significantly shorten and accelerate the transport of goods. Particular emphasis is placed on the potential and challenges of the regional railway network and its importance for future growth and transport efficiency.

ENNA Logic is a logistics company founded in 2019, offering comprehensive multimodal logistics solutions. In partnership with APM Terminals, the company has built and operates Rijeka Gateway, the most advanced container terminal in the Adriatic region. The terminal began operations in September 2025 and is the largest privately funded infrastructure project in Croatia.

Smart lighting is the foundation of a stable IoT ecosystem in logistics – and it brings tremendous savings (Best Practice Business Case)

At Hofer, we started with something simple – lighting. By replacing classic lamps with smart LED lighting, we quickly achieved exceptional savings in electricity consumption. But this is only where the story begins. We connected each lamp to its own Bluetooth Mesh network, making lighting the backbone of a stable IoT ecosystem without a single point of failure. Temperature, humidity, CO₂ and presence sensors can be connected to this network without additional cabling – creating a fully connected logistics environment. All data is collected in a single control platform, which already provides an overview of the system’s operation today. And even more tomorrow. The system is evolving into comprehensive energy management, automatic reporting and smart security lighting that detects errors on its own and reports them in a timely manner. The result is lower costs, more data and greater safety. And logistics that finally becomes smart.

Logistics Next Level is the project through which Strauss successfully revitalised its logistics in the brownfield. New shuttle and robot systems halve throughput times, reduce errors by 80%, and increase performance to 45,000 shipments per day. AI controls orders in real time, while automated processes optimise returns, packaging, and energy consumption. AMR systems prove their effectiveness in practice. Ima obsežno strokovno znanje na področju transportne logistike, vključno z optimizacijo oskrbovalne verige in optimalno lokacijo objektov ter intralogistike, s poudarkom na skladiščnih sistemih in opremi za transport materiala. Poleg tega je specialistka za simulacije pretoka materiala z uporabo programa Tecnomatix Plant Simulation.

Z več kot 15-letnimi izkušnjami je prof. dr. Bojić vodila projekte in sodelovala kot strokovnjakinja pri več kot desetih projektih, ki jih je financirala EU, vključno z Danube DNA, PREMETER, DBS Gateway Region, NEWS, ADB Multimodal Platform, DaHar, WATERMODE in drugimi.   • Blaž Luin je rojen 1981 v Ljubljani. Diplomiral je leta 2005 na Fakulteti za Elektrotehniko v Ljubljani, na smeri Avtomatika – Kibernetika v medicini. Zatem je na isti fakulteti nadaljeval magistrski študij. Od leta 2007 je zaposlen kot na najbolj dislocirani fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani, na Fakulteti za pomorstvo in promet, kjer je leta 2012 zagovarjal doktorsko delo z naslovom Optimizacija postopkov upravljanja cestnih predorov. V sklopu izdelave doktorske naloge in projekta, ki sta ga financirala ARRS in DARS je izdelal jedro simulatorja predora Šentvid, ki je namenjen usposabljanju operaterjev predora. Trenutno je docent na UL FPP. Pri svojem raziskovalnem delu se ukvarja z analizami tveganja, simulacijami prometa, porabe energije v prometu, prezračevanja in požarov v cestnih predorih itd … Sodeloval je pri izdelavi številnih študij in recenzijah analiz tveganja.
